At thirty years old, I've played the Great Highland bagpipes for two thirds of my life. I was a serious competition piper as a soloist and a corps piper in the Salt Lake Scots PB for many years. In 1999 I decided I was tired of competition and the politics of playing in a pipe band, so I left the Salt Lake Scots. Since then I've been performing as a solo bagpiper, guitarist and vocalist. (Not all at the same time!)

In 2005 along with pipers Michael Gibbs and Ian White I helped form an association of professional pipers called The Heathen Highlanders Bagpipe Corps. We perform at all sorts of events... formal to extremely casual, but our favorites are the laid back bar shows. I love music, but not as much as I love performing.

I hired Dave to perform at a party last year. Not only was the music beautiful but Dave was charming and entertaining. He shared great stories about the history of the bagpipes and the music. The performance was musical, funny, informative and absolutely perfect. Dave Glad is a wonderful bagpiper and entertainer.
