The Vermont Institute of Celtic Arts Provides Teaching and Cultural Activities in Celtic Music, Dance, and Language in Vermont.

The Vermont Institute of Celtic Arts (VICA) is an educational institute based in the hills of central Vermont near Marshfield. Its setting provides space for social and musical activities while remaining accessible from two major interstates.

The institute promotes Celtic culture through dance, folk customs, and instrumental and vocal music, drawing on the region’s Scottish and Irish heritage.

Instruction

VICA offers instruction in Highland bagpipes, Scottish smallpipes, Uilleann pipes, Continental bagpipes, Irish flute, whistle, and bodhrán. The institute describes a teaching community of more than eighty students.

Satellite programmes include Highland snare drumming, Highland dancing, Scottish step-dancing, Celtic harp, Gaelic language, and traditional fiddling.

Vermont Highland Games

VICA also presents the Vermont Highland Games at the Highland Center for the Arts in Greensboro, featuring musical performances, cultural demonstrations, workshops, vendors, and clan tents.
