Kamloops Pipe Band Society

Kamloops Pipe Band Society grew out of the Kamloops Legion Pipe Band and became an independent society in the 1970s. Its history includes leadership by Pipe Majors Glen Esdale, Bob Gallaher, Edmond Chilton and Kevin MacDonald, followed by the long tenure of Scot Kortegaard.

The band brings together musicians from Kamloops and communities across the British Columbia interior. Members perform at parades, civic celebrations, weddings, retirements, funerals and sporting events, as well as pipe band competitions.

The society is a member of the British Columbia Pipers’ Association and has competed at Highland Games in British Columbia, Alberta and the northwestern United States.
