Greater Trenton Pipes and Drums is a non-profit pipe band located in the central New Jersey area. Our members hail from Mercer, Burlington, Monmouth, Buck"s (PA), and Chester (PA) Counties. Our focus is on the education, promotion and preservation of the music of the Great Highland Bagpipes and Drums. Kristine with Sean Connery at the Tartan Day Parade Greater Trenton Pipes and Drums currently boasts over 30 playing members, and many students. Founded in 2000, the band is composed of 22 Pipers and drummers. Over the years, the Lia Fail Pipe and drum Corps has established itself as the premier bagpipe band in central New Jersey. Lia Fail has been honored to perform at many prestigious events, including the New Jersey Governor’s Annual Saint Patrick’s Day festivities at the governor’s residence in Princeton, Drumthwachet. Credit for supporting the idea of a club Pipe Band and the driving force behind establishing it was our club president, Jack Dunphy. The large financial burden of establishing the band, purchasing pipes, drums, and uniforms, and paying for piping and drumming instruction was borne by The Club.
