Vienna Pipes and Drums is a Scottish bagpipe band based in Vienna, Austria, founded in 1997. Its musicians come from Austria and Scotland, and the band performs in traditional Highland dress with the Loch Lomond Millenium tartan.
The band has more than 20 active musicians and has performed or competed in Austria, Italy, the Czech Republic, Germany, Belgium and Scotland. Solo pipers, mini-bands and the full band are available for weddings, birthdays, funerals, corporate occasions, sporting fixtures, whisky tastings and Highland games.
Learn and join
The band offers a teaching programme for learners of bagpiping and Scottish drumming who would like to join the performing band.
The supplied 2026 recruitment notice lists Wednesday practices from 7–9 pm at Wiedner Hauptstraße 97. Contact the band before visiting to confirm arrangements.
