St John’s College includes Pipes & Drums among its cultural activities. The school program gives students an opportunity to develop piping, drumming, teamwork, and performance experience alongside the college’s other musical and cultural groups.
The band represented Zimbabwe at the inaugural World Youth Pipe Band Championships in Scotland and won gold in 2025.

Origin:
Based at St John’s College in Harare, it is the premier and only active school pipe band in Zimbabwe.
Membership:
Features over 60 dedicated student pipers and drummers guided by local Zimbabwean instructors.
Key Leadership:
Led by figures including Mr. Leon Rademeyer (Bandmaster) and Mr. Jonathan Kalonga (Director of Culture & Piping Instructor).
